At Cobalt Safety Consulting Inc. we want to bring you the best training possible. Therefore, all of our trainers have undergone an intensive 12 week Instructor Trainer program with a minimum 100 hours of real classroom exposure before being certified to teach Cobalt's Government Approved Working at Heights Training Program.
Our Working at Heights course is designed to provide the basic knowledge required to work safely in areas where there is a possible exposure to fall hazards. The course will address safe practices as specified in Regulations enabled by the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario.
Cost:$150.00 + hst (per participant)
Day rates are available for companies booking full classes. (12 people)
Additional fees such as travel costs may be in addtion of the training fee depending on distance.
Working at Heights Course Outline
Time: 7.5-8 Hours depending on class size
Recommended start time is 8:00 a.m. or earlier
Part One: Basic Theory
- Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
- Fall Hazard Recognition and Controls
- Warning Methods and Physical Barriers
- Ladders and Similar Equipment
- Intro to Personal Fall Protection Equipment
Part Two: Practical Equipment
- Understanding Personal Fall Protection Equipment
- Anchor Points
- Fall Prevention and Rescue Plans
- Immediate First Aid for a Fallen Worker
There is a quiz at the end of each section and practical equipment skills that must be demonstrated.
Accommodations for those who require modified testing is available upon request.
